COMEBACK!

It’s been 4 months since I have been active on my blog. I have been so anxious about getting another project after I got released from the last one and then there’s laziness.

I would sleep around all day or report to my RMG sometimes hoping I’ll get something or the other. It can be pretty tragic  for a person to get another project if you haven’t completed 2 years and dangling there like a pointer. I went through some JQuery and Struts training sessions and I’ve learned a lot there..though I hardly remember anything now…lol.

Then I went home for 2 weeks. After I came back, I was disappointed to know that all my other JQuery peers got into some project or the other. Fortunately, I had another friend left out to give me company 😀

During this time, I went to my sister’s place. One fine day, I got an interview call and I got selected. But, this was just the beginning. I cleared two other interviews with clients and finally got selected 😀 \m/

Also, it has been great to answer  queries in the past year! Lately, I’ve been getting questions of the same kind.  Always read through the articles and comments before asking a question. I’m sure almost all answers are hidden there! 😀 Take your time and you’ll get to know a lot more than you intend to 🙂

As I’m getting older *coughs*, my blog is also getting old. I request the new TCS aspirants to share as much as updated information as possible. That includes ASPIRE materials, changes in Joining Letter and requirements, ILP gossip, PAT patterns, subjects in ILP, diagnostics, accommodation, bench life, projects and anything new that you got to know. It will be really helpful for the generations to come! 😉

Please leave your comments, experiences, suggestions and rectifications. Your contribution is very essential for running this blog! 😀

Never give up or feel undermined! The best is always to come! 😀

A REVIEW ON COMPREHENSIVE ONLINE COACHING FOR CAT AND OTHER MBA EXAMS

cat

Recently, I’ve started taking the CAT preparation too seriously. I got so worked up that my BP fell! 😛  In 2012, I just took the exam for pleasure (without any preparation! and don’t ask the percentile please! 😥 ) knowing that I’ll only do MBA after I have my 2 years of industry experience. As my 2 years come closer, I realized that it is never too late to start preparing for higher studies entrance exams!

Frankly, Maths has never been my strong point! Even though I’m an engineer and have scored well in my maths exams back then, I still feel that I don’t have what it takes to be strong with numbers *turns away in shame* . I really wanted to join a coaching class ASAP when my friend advised that I should never think of CAT coaching classes unless I get my basics right. I know you get concepts in books but lazy ‘me’  hardly ever liked Math books! >.< I was really worried about this. I wanted someone patient; who would teach me right from the scratch, tell me where the formulas came from, how to approach a problem and most of all, help me work smart than work hard!

My prayers were answered when one night at 3:00 am, I was looking for some online verbal quizzes. I came across this site called www.wiziq.com. On the right side, I found various online classes and that included a course called “Comprehensive Online Coaching for CAT and other MBA exams by Ravi Handa”. It caught my eye and I decided to explore it. I knew there were CAT classes online but I was always skeptical about online classes as we are accustomed to classrooms from our birth! 😛 I’ve heard a lot about Handa Sir, about his reputation, his posts on various MBA sites and his years of experience in teaching Quantitative in IMS and various coaching centers. That gave me the confidence to enroll in this course and the inspiration to start preparing. All this, at the comfort of my home and at a reasonable deal of Rs. 2999. When CAT has gone online, it’s perfectly okay to take coaching online! 😀

The courseware is extensive as it has about 150 videos and counting, covering each topic from scratch to advanced. When I sit with a pen and copy and watch the video and listen carefully, I feel like I’m in the classroom. I seem to absorb better when somebody teaches me rather than opening a book and mugging up concepts. It helped me remember better. The next surprise is that… this is not all. There are two live sessions every week for 8 months. These are mostly concept and doubt clearing sessions where you can present your problems and watch Handa Sir come out with  miraculous solutions to things you thought were very tough. The live sessions are interactive as you can chat and interact with the teacher and the rest of the crew! 😀 Moreover, you can use the course feed as a forum and discuss doubts there. Handa Sir is very helpful and we can ask for his help at any time or mail him our doubts.

The advantages of taking this course are–

1) Saves your time! No need to travel! Take classes even if you are camping  in the Amazon rain forest!

2) More than 150 videos+60 Live classes covering Quant, LR & DI

3) Download various E-books containing articles on CAT 2013 exam

4) Suitable for other MBA entrance exams also like CMAT,SNAP, XAT,IIFT

5) From author of bestselling “Bizworld” – the course is more up to date

6) Course instructed by IIT Kharagpur alumni & TIME/ IMS faculty

You can go through the course outline in here.

So far, I’m loving it! 😀 If you are still in doubt as to how online coaching will be, I vouch that this will absolutely be great. But never forget that “Success is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration.” 😀

MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY NEW YEAR AND ANNIVERSARY IN TCS! :D \M/

Looks like this December 2012, I had 4 reasons to celebrate! Christmas, my blog’s first anniversary, my first anniversary in TCS (26th December 2011) and the New Year 😀  I clearly remember how last year’s December went. It was cold and I was tense about everything. I was an anxious joinee like the rest of you. I decided to write this blog coz I wanted to feel better and keep a documentary of all I’m going to go through in TCS. I cried coz I had to leave home but still excited that ILP in Trivandrum is going to be more than just a training! 😀 All these seems like yesterday *sigh*

And then it has been one year since all this happened. Time flies away so fast that you can barely feel what went which way! 😀 I started this blog as a documentary or diary to let people know what goes on during ILP. I spent each day in ILP gathering information, events and fun facts so that I could write them here. So, we can say that I’ve actually learned well during ILP! 😉 More than that, I’m happy that I’ve created memories that I can easily refer to whenever I feel like reminiscing.

I don’t know if I’ve been able to guide people to complete their ILP smoothly, or ease their PRE-ILP anxiety but I’ve definitely tried my best and I’ll keep trying to improve in any way possible. I’m sorry if I couldn’t answer most queries on time or haven’t answered any query. I would love it and so would other readers if you guys share your brief personal ILP experiences in my blog. I’ll publish as much as I can, I promise! 🙂

Coming to my anniversary in TCS, *opens champagne bottle* it was so nice to see my confirmation go so smoothly. And yes, you’ll get a hike once you’re confirmed! 😉 That calls for a PARRRTTYYYY!! 😀

All I’ll tell you is that keep reading, keep coming back and sharing your valuable feedback and most of all, keep Googling!! 😀

All the Best!! 😀

2012 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

4,329 films were submitted to the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. This blog had 49,000 views in 2012. If each view were a film, this blog would power 11 Film Festivals
